Yesterday three of us visited the Butchers Grill in Sandton after spending the day at the mall. The intent was to try out the famous brownie dessert they offer. A waiter escorted us to a table. On the way we verified that they had brownies available. When the waiter returned we wanted to place our order for dessert and coffee. He then said that we can only have that at the bar. If we wanted to stay at the table there would be an extra charge of R200 per head. We did not want to have our dessert where others were drinking and objected. The waiter said policy is policy. The restaurant was not even a third full. So we got up and left to spend our R300 rand on dessert elsewhere. In all my years of travel around the world I have never come across such *******.
