Appalling Service at the Butcher Shop & Grill

<p>On 23 January I made a reservation on The Butcher Shop & Grill website for Valentine’s Day. On 13 February I called to confirm the reservation for 20:00. We arrived on the night just after 20:00 and were greeted with a line of people at the main desk . Many of these people also had reservations and were attempting to be seated. The waitresses abruptly told us to wait, which we did for another 10 minutes. When we were eventually taken to our table, the waiter left us standing at the dirty table to find someone to clean it. At 20:30 we decided to leave as we had still not been attended to. When leaving we walked past the manager who was also rather unwilling to help us.</p> <p> </p> <p>The night was an extremely disappointing experience. From the attitude of the waiters and manger to the service, we felt unwelcome and what was meant to be a special night was instead turned into a frustrating and unpleasant occasion. To make things worse we then had to find another place to have dinner on one of the busiest nights of the year. After multiple phone calls to various steakhouses we managed to find an open table at The Grillhouse in the Firs. When we arrived there, we were greeted by friendly employees who were prepared to make a plan to ensure we had a good night.</p> <p> </p> <p>I think that The Butcher Shop needs to re-examine how their staff are trained and how they speak to clients. I also think that they should disable the online booking function, as it is evidently unsuccessful and they are unable to run it efficiently. Furthermore, on busy nights they should either have more staff working or not book out the entire restaurant. In my opinion they should be more concerned with quality than quantity.</p> <p> </p> <p>Most importantly however, instead of receiving and opening my emails - clearly ignoring me when I am attempting to resolve a situation, they could just simply reply with an apology. </p> <p> </p> <p>Regards,</p> <p>Lauren</p>
