An Incredibly Stressful and Disappointing Stay

It makes me incredibly sad to continuously see raving reviews of this place when we were not afforded the same service and courtesy.

Ours was meant to be a birthday celebration weekend and since we're both outdoorsy, it seemed a perfect place to wind down from our busy city lives.

Outside of other loadshedding related challenges, the first red flag was a dead frog in our lukewarm jacuzzi, then the burst geyser and subsequent waterless ablutions. The last straw was a barrage of continuous and unfulfilled promises to sort things out from the off site man-in-charge Rohan, until we left the property two days later.

We ran around the entire weekend needlesly, trying to keep ourselves hygienic, looking for a place to shower and relieve ourselves; and he bribed us with a lunch in town under the guise that the problems would have been sorted by the time we returned. As said, nothing was until we left. There is nothing luxurious about any of this.

Without really going into too much detail, I regret the wastage we plunged ourselves into when there were plenty other honest alternatives with amazing track records for far less than what we paid.

Much as it pains me to bash a businessman in this climate, Rohan is not an honest man and should not be in the hospitality business with such poor ethics. He must know surely that a man is not much without his word. I will leave it at that.

I do very much not wish what befell us on this property, on anyone, especially with the high expectations The Bubble Valley raises pre-booking. It is all a terrible and painful lie and that is our truth.
