Beautiful Venue, Unprofessional Owner

I cannot in good conscious give anything more than 1 star for this venue. The venue itself looks beautiful, but the way that the owner, Andrew, treated my wife and me during the process was not professional and was occasionally rude. There was an issue with Andrew and the previous tenant of the venue, we were dealing with the previous tenant initially, but then they had a dispute. So, Andrew took over. But the changeover process was not clean and lawyers were involved, and we kept getting emails about issues between them, including legal documents between the two of them, these documents had nothing to do with us. We had a booking with the venue and Andrew kept bringing up the issue and tried to make it our problem. It was an absolutely horrible experience leading up to the day, Andrew added a significant amount of stress to our wedding and seemed to feel no remorse for doing so. In addition to this major problem below is a list of issues my wife and I experienced during our wedding:

• The toilet in the groom's ready room was leaking. • The bathroom in the groom's ready room didn't have any hand soap. • The toilet in the brides****'s ready room wouldn't flush initially. • No one came to greet me on the day and let me know that everything is okay, I only saw. I just think that the groom is seen as not important, which isn't ideal. • The sound quality of the sound system was very poor, sounded very distorted. • The power kept on switching off, not sure if the generator was the issue. • There wasn't enough food for the main meal, my wife and I dished up second last and the potatoes were finished already and there were two guests that didn't show up. • Several guests told me that the price for drinks increased as the night went on, the price went from R60 for a double brandy and coke to R72, as an example. • Several guests were also charged more than once when paying for drinks, the bartender would claim that the payment didn't go through when it did. • The communication between our MC and the staff was not good according to our MC, he kept on getting surprised by food either being late or delivered early. • I don't recall the last call for the bar, which I would have liked to know. • I wasn't notified when our time was almost up, I might have considered paying for an extra hour. • The bridal suite toilet was leaking. • The bridal suite shower floods when you shower, the drainage system was blocked.

In conclusion, Andrew did not treat us with respect, the venue has terrible communication, they don’t track discussions and documents properly, and the bar will try and **** people out of money throughout the evening.

Please do not use this venue, it will ruin the memory of your special day.
