I have been a homeowner at The Blyde since 2021, and after investing substantially in the development, I am deeply disappointed by my experience with Balwin Properties and the management of The Blyde. This is not about one isolated complaint. It concerns what I believe is a pattern of inconsistent communication, lack of transparency, changing amenities, governance concerns and questions about utility costs. 🚲 ELECTRIC-BIKE CHARGING Balwin's legal representative advised me that arrangements had been made for me to charge my electric bike at a designated facility, apparently with the Estate Manager's confirmation. When I later arrived to charge it, I was told I could not do so because the arrangement had apparently been overridden. I was not informed beforehand. If Balwin's own representatives give a homeowner an undertaking, who is accountable when that undertaking is suddenly reversed? 🏊 AMENITIES CHANGED Facilities that formed part of the lifestyle offering when I purchased have subsequently been restricted, changed or made subject to additional charges. Homeowners deserve to know whether amenities that influenced their investment decisions can simply be changed without meaningful consultation. 💰 UTILITY COSTS The Blyde is a mixed-use development with residential and commercial operations. I have asked Balwin for transparency regarding bulk electricity, metering, cost allocation and whether residential owners may indirectly carry costs associated with commercial operations. Question remains if the bulk tariffs are based on residential rates and if commercial entities are benefiting 🏠 GOVERNANCE & HOMEOWNER REPRESENTATION I have also requested clarity about the governance structure, voting arrangements and Balwin's influence over decisions affecting homeowners. We are property owners—not merely occupants. MY QUESTION IS SIMPLE: Where is the transparency, accountability and meaningful consultation that homeowners deserve? I am not asking for special treatment. I am asking for consistency, proper communication and fair treatment. I have formally raised these concerns with Balwin and requested answers. Before buying at The Blyde, I strongly recommend that prospective purchasers ask questions, investigate the governance arrangements, understand the costs and establish exactly what amenities and services they are actually paying for. This is my personal experience. I believe homeowners and prospective buyers deserve to know about it.

I had a very bad experience at time oon travel & tour the Blyde. At arrival the maps took us to a wrong gate that only residents are supposed to use so we had to find a other gate. Then when we got in we was driving around for about 15 min because it is very confusing and you don't know where to go. Then I had to find out that you can only swim till 18:00. And you are not allowed to take anything inside. There is nothing else to do so then you have to sit in a flat. The braaier was fallen appart and for 6 people there were only 2 forks to eat with. The linen was stained. The couch is dirty and broked. They said after 22:00 it must be quiet but the people was very loud all around us. We paid for 2 nights but early the next morning we pack up and go and they refuse to refund me. We also struggle to get a pin out of the host just to get out off the gates. What is the point of going away for a weekend and you have to sit in a flat. This is not a getaway place. It is flats that people are staying and some of them are renting their's out for a ridiculous price.
