BIRTHING TEAM PARKLANE - WORSE THAN A PUBLIC HOSPITAL

If you are considering joining this program, don't. You would be better off at a public hospital because at least if anything happens you can blame it on insufficient staff or resources. Imagine paying for a program where the only person you have access to is an administrator who has the most in-compassionate, monotonous tone and can never actually give you any information. If you have any concerns, you have to fight just to get her to hand the phone to midwife who, in most cases as the administrator will tell you, is not available. There is ONE entire doctor on call, if he is not in due to an emergency, you can forget about getting adequate assistance. I found out the midwives that were examining me didn't actually know what they were doing. They measured my GA and position of baby incorrectly for two whole months before the scan showed otherwise. ON TOP OF THAT, if there are any complications during the pregnancy, they will sing "I don't know, ask the doctor" until you feel like dying. They boast about natural labour but I honestly would not be surprised if more than half the women that give birth have a c-section. It's disappointing. Do not expect good service. It's like a dentist's room... I'm not even sure they know they're dealing with our babies.
