Do not use The Billion Company

This is one service provider that should definitely be AVOIDED at all costs We used The Billion Company to ship 120 kg worth of goods to Nova Scotia. Their service was shocking in every way.

- They had no idea where our bags were or what time or day they would be arriving. - No one at the company could or would assist us in finding our belongings and no one seemed to have a clue about what route or method was being used to ship these goods. - Only during the last leg of the journey did their team realize the goods would be shipped by truck the remainder of the way and couldn't give us an ETA. - They ended up arriving a week later than they said. - We had to personally track down our shipment once it had arrived. - The reference numbers they gave us were incorrect and it was only due to the diligent nature of Canadians that they put us in the right path to find our goods. - The staff working at Customs and the Airline were also appalled at the level of service, or lack thereof, we received this Service Provider. They even mentioned that they would be complaining on our behalf. - Our bags also arrived beaten and damaged and had clearly been mishandled during transit. Clearly the multiple weeks our bags were in limbo did not help. - We were also not sent through a document of what is allowed and not allowed in the shipment. Because of this, our bags needed to be opened to retrieve a battery from a toy. The other bags had plenty other batteries in them which didn't seem to be a problem at all and we even had a wooden box with batteries in it which was left untouched. - It would take days to reply to us regarding the status of our goods and the responses were short and vague. They blamed the time difference but it would take days not hours.

They have since not rep**** to our formal complaint either, taking no responsibility for the shocking service.

We regret that the customer is not satisfied with our service, as we pride ourselves in our professional and friendly personal service. The post by the customer is, unfortunately, not accurate and deserves our comments:

The customer booked 5 pieces of cargo from Durban to Halifax airport. The carrier used was British Airways. The customer signed our standard export instruction form and conformed that the customer accept the terms and conditions. The customer was provided with the Air Waybill which indicates that the cargo would be handled by British Airways from Durban via Pearson Airport in Torronto to Halifax Stanfield International Airport. During the transportation of the cargo, British Airways, in their sole discretion and without informing us, transported the cargo by road freight from Torronto to Halifax. Upon our repeated queries, we were informed that the cargo was already at Halifax, when it was not, and the report was incorrect. We used all our contacts to find the correct information, which information was passed on to the customer as we received the information. We are not responsible for the decisions taken by British Airways, nor do we have any control over the way in which they handle cargo, and the customer is advised to address their concerns to British Airways. As far as the search and removal of batteries is concerned, the customer failed to observe the terms and conditions, which explicitly warn that cargo may not contain hazardous or corrosive properties such as batteries. Lastly, it is patently incorrect to state that no one at the company could or would assist the customer. Riaan of the company was in continuous contact with Mrs AM (not Nicolas M who posted the complaint). Proper explanations were given. It is equally patently untrue to state that “They have since not rep**** to our formal complaint”. Prior to the post (within the same week), Riaan addressed an extensive email to Mrs AM, attaching all previous emails and with a comprehensive explanation of the matter.

We welcome constructive criticism and we are constantly looking for measures to better our service and to implement ways to prevent any inconvenience to our customers, but we do not look kindly upon false reports.

We regret any customer being dissatisfied but we assure customers of our best efforts and service at all times.
