Big Hole dissapointment

We are currently on a road trip, started at Johannesburg and travelled through Bloemfontein, prince Alfred pass, Tsitsikamma, prince Albert, Paternoster, Lambertsbaai, Williston and Kimberley, on the way back. Due to travelling far, on unknown roads and the high crime rate in South Africa, we travel with licenced firearms, for which we have valid competency. When arriving at the big hole, we were stopped by security and informed we may not enter with the firearms. They did not have safes, as required by law, and expected us to either leave the weapons in our vehicle or not enter the museum. I feel it is very unprofessional from GS4 and the museum, as they should know what the crime situation is in SA, that people have a right to self defence, and if issued competency and a licence by the State, they should either allow you entrance or provide a safe on premise while visiting the museum.
