Dubious Business Dealings

In December we went to have a look at this Guest House to POSSIBLY stay there, we were unable to view any of the rooms as their family members were staying there. We told the owner that we would possibly be returning home and that we would call to advise them if we would be making a booking later that afternoon. The owner told us that he would take our details and should we call to confirm they could confirm our booking, this included him taking a MANUAL copy of our credit card as according to him it was their normal practice but assured us that they only process transactions once you check in! As soon as we left, we received notification that a transaction was processed. We called them to inform them that we decided to return home and would not be confirming the reservation, they subsequently refused to return our R6600 that was *******ly and **********ly deducted. We have made numerous attempts but the owner told us that due to their family staying there over December they lost money and they now refuse to return our money even though we were there for 5min, never checked in, never seen a room and most importantly we NEVER EVEN CONFIRMED A RESERVATION WITH THEM!
