Pathetic Service

We celebrated my mom's 60th birthday party at the Agulhas room of the Beach Hotel, Summerstrand, however the total evening was a disaster. <br> On the booking sheet, I requested one vegetarian meal however when we asked we were told that the kitchen was not informed that they needed to cater vegetarian. They then managed to throw something together for a starter, but when the guest asked to see what her main meal was, she was told to dish the vegetables from the buffet that was going to be served to the other guests. Embarassing !<br> When it was time for the buffet, I asked for the curry that we selected- we were told that that was not the menu the banqueting coordinator supp**** to the kitchen.<br> We brought in 14 bottles of champagne (corkage paid), but when it was time to serve the champagne I had to get up from the main table to ask where it was. The waiters and barman were chatting away while showing me where the box was. I had to carry the box and ask 2 guests to place the bottles on the tables. <br> I have many more to add. I have been in contact with the Dep Gen Manager (LeeRoy Gerber) via email but till now nothing has been done. Disgusting service for a hotel.
