The Backyard Cafè management

Very disappointing experience. I went for a trial shift there on Saturday 23 March 2024 under the belief that I'd get a trial shift for waitressing and a trial shift for a management position. On Saturday my trial was for waitressing. I came in at 9am and the manager asked me to follow her to the cafè and she just left me there and all i did was help a waitress with her customers. I was there till 2pm and not once did the manager talk to me, she treated me as though i was invisible. I received absolutely no feedback from the manager and when i was leaving, the managers only words to me were "Thank you for coming, I'll email you". On top of the manager not speaking to me at all, I received no pay for my time spent there. The manager failed to email me so i had to email her to find out what was happening and she rep**** and told me that she does not feel I'm a suitable fit for the company, bare in mind she didn't speak to me once. As an unemployed person who is in urgent need of work, this was a waste of my time, energy and petrol. Extremely unprofessional management. I've never waitressed before, I've only ever been in retail but i gave the waitressing a chance under the impression that I'd also get a trial shift for the retail position.
