Do not trust Apple Doctor

My iPhone 5s was charging in December and after a power surge in my area, the phone smelt of chemicals and the screen had what looked like battery seepage inside it. I took my phone to The Apple Doctor in Bedfordview who told me the phone had water damage and that I simply needed to replace the screen. I paid R749.00 for the screen replacement and took my phone on holiday the next day. Lo and behold it never worked. Every few minutes the Apple logo would appear on the screen and the battery would go from 100% to zero in seconds. I returned with my phone to Apple Doctor Bedfordview when I got back to Johannesburg and the technician finally admitted that the phone is irreparable. I have since gotten a new phone from Insurance but I would like my R749.00 refunded because clearly the technician was trying to take me for a ride. Actually this is total ****************.
