Disgusting booking, front desk/managerial service!!!
The service at Thamani has been absolutely disgusting and i am fed-up beyond measure. My experience below: and DESPITE meeting with the owner i was told to my face that i am lying and her manager is correct! (Yet in the same breath she says she hasn’t viewed her camera’s) when she could rather say “sorry about your bad experience, i will be dealing with my staff, here is a voucher and we invite you back for a better experience after which you can rewrite your review” !! I would have removed my reviews all over social media but due to the owners shocking way of handling the matter i write to hello peter!
I previously booked for a hair wash and blow for a South African celeb year end function, only to arrive on the morning of the event to be told that they double booked and can not help me. Thank goodness for Gary Rom next door who were able to assist me.
I am only emailing now due to being away for holiday.
I booked in December for a waxing and nail appointment on the 24th of December for 13h00.
On arrival around 12h00 ish there was no-one at the front desk, whilst waiting to be assisted there was a Que behind me of 4 people of which 2 decided to just leave. Eventually the guy doing hair stopped and assisted me, he struggled to pick up my booking on the system, he called the lady who does my nails and she said to me that she saw my wax and nail appointment on the system that morning but for some reason its no longer there… She didn’t have a client and we were able to start my soak off a bit earlier. I was also then informed that my waxing can not be done because they wax lady didn’t arrive for work, at this point i was beyond frustrated because that same evening i was flying out for holiday and where would i last minute get someone to do my waxes on Christmas eve. Maybe if the salon called or sms’d me in the morning stating that my waxing can not be done i would have made another plan!
I asked for that manger and no one was able to give me information on where she was, the client sitting next to me at the nail bar said to me “i saw the manager/front desk lady leave around 10:20 and she told the other guy to sit in the front and not answer the phone” i was absolutely speechless. The nail tech doing my nails was so embarrassed and didn’t know what to say to me. The phone rang at least 6 times whilst i was doing my nails and no-one picked up.
I phoned around to try get a wax booking but had absolutely no luck. Once my nails were done around 14:30 i went to the front to pay and once again it was a huge hassle, firstly no-one was in the front, i leaned and looked towards the nail bar to try get assistance and then another worker came to my assistance but knew nothing about the system and payments, eventually the lady doing my nails came and helped him make payment, and to my surprise the phone rang, i said “isn’t someone going to answer” at which he responded “my manager is out and instructed me not to answer the phone as we are fully booked”. Surely its etiquette to answer and informed clients you’re fully booked??
I grabbed a few things at the mall, including a coffee at woolies and on my way out i saw the manager had returned, i popped in and asked her what the heck is going on, she informed me the wax lady didn’t arrive and her words “what do you want me to do about it” i said to her i will certainly be emailing and i began to walk away and she shouted from the front desk to nearly the automatic doors “goodbye and merry Christmas to you too” this attitude and behaviour of a manger is beyond me. As an owner please feel free to review all this on your salon’s Camera’s.
Thamani’s work (waxing and nails) is sooo good but for the ****ty front desk and managerial work i will surly post my experience all over social media.
Kind Regards Sharne
