Horrible birthday experience

My birthday got ruined by this establishment. I booked for the weekend of the 08 November 2024 to celebrate my birthday on Saturday. I booked the spa for the Friday at 4 of which the lady doing our massage was late and the massage wasn't that great. On Saturday me and my husband booked for a bush picnic lunch where we were to be driven to the other location inside the area where there's also hippos view but instead the manager decided to do the lunch around the corner of our room for the price of 950.00. I saw that he didn't want us going to the other location because he kept on saying it was going to rain and I told him it won't and that I wanted to go have that picnic. To my surprise he decided by himself to make the setup near the room without even checking with me if that is ok. Really no regard over the guests. My birthday got spoiled that I left on the same day instead of leaving the following day as i was not ok at all. Why would he spoil my day just like that..it took him over 15 minutes to come and explain himself why did he change the plan and guess what he didn't have any reason why he did it but to just say sorry. I have been at this bush lodge before and I must say Pieter and his wife Claudia managed it very awesome. They had the guests interest at heart not this management that's there now. The pool was dirty from the day we got there until the day we left,didn't they know they were expecting guests who might want to use the pool? The seats by the pool were missing cushions and when we're asked for them we were told they not available as they were taken to the other side of the lodge,really? The food wasn't nice at all as on Friday we had some dry rice with beans and very dry chicken kebabs which most guests didn't even eat. There's really no option to choose what you want to eat. The shower tap in our room wasn't working so it filled water almost everywhere. Only 1 towel was provided, meaning we had to share it.Asked for orange juice and was told they don't have. This place is being run down ant ot will close down if it continues like this. The manager thinks of saving over making guests happy. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. They really spoiled my birthday. I wish the owner can contact me so I can explain further.My 40th birthday celebration turned into a nightmare because of you that I had to leave while I fully paid to be there. Customer is nothing in this establishment.
