Poor Workmanship in laying polished concrete floor

We accepted a quote from TG Chats for polished concrete flooring to be laid on our patio. On 28 September 2020 the work was started by preparing the tiled floor. On the Thursday rain was expected so we agreed to pause the work until Monday 5 October. That day when he arrived, he was concerned that it may rain again but the sun was out, and we decided to go ahead with the work. That afternoon after they had laid the floor, there was a severe thunderstorm & the rain washed away a small section of the flooring that wasn’t covered by the patio roof. The next day they fixed the floor and did some finishing touches. I noticed that there was part of the floor that had small holes and was assured that when they came to apply the sealer these would be sanded away & the floor would be smooth. George then asked for the balance of the payment. These are the concerns we now have with the workmanship: • When they did eventually come back to lay the sealer, they sanded the area where the holes were, but this never solved the problem and the holes were still there and yet they proceeded to seal the floor before the 14-day curing time had elapsed. • Although they had advised me that a critical part of the process was to cure the concrete, they never came at all to do this which resulted in the floor cracking all over, not even a month after ‘completion’. • They also never made expansion cuts in the floor which I saw done in the video on your website. • There were also footprints left in the concrete by his staff which he claimed were due then having to smooth out the floor from rain leaking onto it. • On 21 October they agreed to fix all the marks on the floor if we made a further payment of R 1000, and assured us that the floor would be as smooth as the one in the brochure they showed us. • Due to rain they started fixing the marks the following week and instead of giving is a smooth floor, they just patched up the rough area, cracks, footprints & marks with a different colour hardener mixed with binder. • Since they left on the 30th when George again asked for final payment despite us not being happy, more cracks have appeared, and these are much bigger than the first ones. It seems like these guys don’t know what they are doing, and they keep making one mistake after the next & patching them up with no concern about providing good service or whether we as customers are satisfied with their work. They just want to do a half-baked job, rush off to the next big job & expect payment. My wife & I feel disgusted with George’s attitude and what seemed like a great idea before we started this job has become a nightmare, in fact my wife wants the money back.
