TestGorilla offer a service which helps with recruitment and screening. You can create online tests which candidates then access.

In July 2023, I wanted to find a candidate for my micro-business. I asked about pricing for just one assessment to be used once-off for one position I was filling. I wanted to pay for just 1 month. Test Gorilla said that they had a legacy "pay as you go" plan, where I'd have to pay a set fee (over $300) for a year. I agreed to that. I used their services that once in July 2023. I have not used them since.

Suddenly a few days ago, without any warning, they just deducted $390, using the credit card I paid with originally. I have been in contact with them and explained that I never wanted a "continual" license where they deduct money every year, and that I want them to reverse the charge. The charge is for the next year, and I don't want the service in the next year.

They refuse saying a) They sent an email in May saying there'd be a charge and b) That somehow I agreed to this pay-for-ever scheme. Both of these are not so. I did not receive any such email. I have checked with my ISP who has keeps all emails sent to my business account (and in the spam folder). No such email was received. I also never agreed to anything that would mean TestGorilla would just take money from my credit card.

I have tried talking to TestGorilla, but after they firmly said "no", they are no longer replying to my emails.
