DISCOVERY LIFE COVER ACTIVATED WITHOUT OUR KNOWLEDGE.....BEWARE OF ADVISOR MERVIN PILLAY...AKA SANTHEKESEN PILLAY

covers as he is aware that I have a Discovery Medical Aid but no life cover. I advised that I have a Liberty Life Policy and he discussed the Discovery Life cover with my over the phone, stating that we will actually qualify for a discount on same as we have Vitality. Eventually we met with Mervin at our home and he briefly explained how the policy works and then filled out an Application. Mervin assured us that if we needed anything that he is just a phone call away at any time of day. He advised that he will come back to us with the quote that the underwriters was offering and we can go through everything and then make a decision. HE NEVER CAME BACK TO US..........our policy was subsequently activated and processed with Discovery. My parent’s policies was to being on 1st January 2018 and my husband and my policy to start on 1st February 2018. We tried contacting Mr Pillay throughout the December festive season to no avail, after receiving smses that our debit orders are scheduled for the 1st of every month. We even contacted Discovery itself who tried to get a hold of Mr Pillay, with no luck. We literally tried calling Mervin over 50 times. Unfortunately, Tescon has no website. Only a phone number and their address when your google them so there was no way of me getting into contact with anyone self either than the Advisor Mervin. Eventually when they re-opened in January 2018 we get calls and emails from Mervin trying to apologize for the poor services by him....which calls and emails we did not entertain. We eventually got into contact with their offices, I must admit that none of the staff at Tescon are very clued up with procedures as everyone there says different things (including Advisors and Head of Administers…… EVERYONE), so you basically get the run around with them. After much delay we eventually managed to have them to cancel our policies with Discovery. Due to the appalling services received by Tescon and Mervin Pillay activating our Life Covers without our actual consent, I will not recommend them to anyone. BEWARE OF TESCON FINANCIAL SERVICES AND MERVIN PILLAY.
