Disappointed: Started rusting within 2 weeks of use

Very disappointed in the quality of the tool

Bought Terratac about a month ago, blade was dull but the rest looked good and sturdy. Within a week or 2 tool started rusting on the blade and file and by now all the hinges are rusted and getting worst. I still have my old tool of more than 2 years with not a spec of rust and have been using Terra for the same type of work. I bought my staff the INGCO multi tools a year ago and also no rust on them and they cost only like R300 bucks.

Just disappointed over the hype

Hi Nico,

Thank you for sharing your experience, and I’m really sorry to hear that you’re disappointed with your X14. I completely understand your frustration.

The TerraTAC X14 is made from high-grade stainless steel, but like any hardened stainless-steel tool, surface rust can appear if it isn’t cleaned and dried after exposure to moisture, humidity, sweat or coastal air. This isn’t a sign of poor quality — it’s simply how this type of steel reacts in certain environments.

Giving the tool a quick rinse, a proper dry and a light coat of oil will prevent further rust and keep it performing well. This kind of care is recommended for all high-end tools of this type.

That said, your satisfaction matters to us. If you’re still unhappy after giving it some maintenance, please reach out to us directly and we’ll gladly assist.

Sincerely,

Ced @ TerraTAC
