Warning to South Africans: Temu “Cut Price” & “Free Gift” Promotions ⚠️

I want to warn others about my experience with Temu’s so-called “Cut Price” and “Free Gift” deals.

What is advertised as items costing around R1 ended up being split into multiple separate transactions. In my case, there were four separate charges, and the total would have exceeded R1000 if I hadn’t caught it in time.

I cancelled the order (fortunately a refund is being processed), but I’ve now noticed additional banking fees being charged per transaction (around R10 each).

This kind of setup is extremely misleading and can easily result in customers unknowingly spending far more than expected. It feels like the system is designed to take advantage of users who don’t carefully track each transaction.

I would strongly advise others to be very cautious when engaging with these promotions and to monitor their bank transactions closely.
