I am writing this to warn other South Africans about Temu’s "Cut Price" and "Free Gift" promotions. After participating for weeks and fulfilling all spending requirements—totalling R541 across two transactions (R211 and R330)—the promotion "expired" and my entire order history was wiped. While the orders have vanished from the app, my bank has successfully processed both payments to Temu. The customer service experience is nonexistent. I have been stuck in a loop with robotic agents (specifically "Agoes Richardson") who provide scripted, copy-pasted responses. They refuse to acknowledge my bank proof of payment or escalate the matter to a human supervisor. Temu is extracting money and referrals from consumers under false pretences. I am demanding an immediate refund of my R541 as no goods or services were delivered.
