High hidden costs of Temu (unlike Shein).
You will get your order delivered, and most of items are worth the amount Temu asks for it on their website. Negatives: 1. Temu does not use an South African bank account when they sell in rand to South Africans. Your bank will charge you a forex fee on top of order amount. 2. Temu split orders into small parcels (I even had 8 parcels on 1 order), assuring customer that extra delivery cost. BUT: you will pay clearance/handling fee of about R50 per parcel. In stead of R50 for one order, I had to pay R400 on 8 parcels in one order - excluding the real customs duty charge. The % custom duty charged is many times not in line with SARS rates - but you can not get a detail invoice before you pay; and not always after you paid. Invoice for full amount, but not detail as how it is made up. Temu customer care is a waste of time. Even when it is a real person, only pre-programmed responses, not addressing your issue, or solving anything.
