Buyers beware

Buyer beware regarding the “cut to R1” promotions on Temu. This is now the third time I have followed the stated requirements, only for the qualifying spend amount to continue increasing during checkout. After meeting one requirement, the app repeatedly requests additional spending before the discounted items can supposedly be claimed.

From a customer perspective, this feels misleading and the advertising should be clearer about the actual conditions required to qualify. Customers should know upfront exactly what is needed before making purchases linked to these promotions.

To be fair, after I previously raised this issue with customer support, Temu did refund the amount spent, which I appreciated. I have again requested a refund on this occasion and expect the matter to be resolved similarly.

I hope Temu improves the transparency and accuracy of these promotions to avoid confusion and frustration for customers.
