TEMPEST- WORST POST RENTAL SERVICE EVER. NEVER AGAIN

Booked my Car hire in PE through Discovery Vitality for our holiday at the end of August returning 1 September where we drove through to Knysna. The only car they had available was a Renault Kwid(Small 1 Litre), The first one had a fault (Reverse lights not working) and so they offered me the same car. I wasnt happy but i realized that it wasnt worth the hassle.

I returned the car full of fuel and relatively clean. It did have a little beach sand and i was happy to pay for a basic wash. Our Deposit was returned with a R295 + Vat (Total R340) for a VALET which i felt was highly excessive. I was also charged a document handling fee of R104 plus Vat (Also i feel not necessary)

I recently was contacted that i got 3 traffic violations with the Car. 2 of them were fines 20 SECONDS APART for 2 different speeding viotations where i was slightly over. Now i have no issue paying them but i had my account debited 3 times (R405 each) admin fee PER FINE! My fines total was R1000 and Tempest Admin fee is R1200! I am sorry this is unacceptable. All i want is for them to assist me in Querying the 2 fines 20 seconds apart and allow me to pay the invoices myself not debit my account.

I called and was promised someone in fines would call me. STILL WAITING. I emailed and they mailed back saying they needed more info on the booking. I put in the email reference for the fines.

I am really disappointed that they debited my account without allowing me the opportunity to pay them myself. R405 admin fee per fine is in my opinion just pure shocking, i dont even mind R405 once off for all 3 offences. As i said i have no problem paying the fines but there has been ZERO support. They rush you to sign all their paperwork at collection. And their hidden fees are not worth the service they provide. There is zero customer support and it feels like all they want to do is squeeze as much money as they can.

Will be interested to see when i get my call.
