Tempest Rips off its renters. Management responds poorly

Hi Stefan This is such a pity as your people are being dishonest with you and you and they are making Tempest (and Europcar) look dishonest. I did 207km in the car. Could I suggest that you get the opening and closing readings from my booking and lets verify this. If it shows more than these km, then your staff have used the car for other purposes. The car took 15.92 litres which means it used +-7,7litres per 100km. I drove a 1600cc sedan and on checking the manufacturers specs I should have achieved around 6l per 100km. Here is a table from the internet showing consumption figures.

This probably means that the car was not fully refuelled when you gave it to me. If I add on the +-4,2 litres that you claim were required to top up the fuel then we get to a consumption of around 10 litres per 100km. I mainly traveled on freeways and outside of peak traffic hours. Surely Ford would be held to account if they falsified their consumption data. Based on your response I wont be using Tempest again and I expect Europcar will also not be getting any business from me. I will also make a point of telling all of my network about my experience as well as the shocking reponse from management. It is a pity that your company spends millions of rands to ensure customer satisfaction, and it takes years to build up your reputation. You then throw this all away in one simple act of dishonesty. I just looked at Hello Peter and this same complaint appears many times. It appears as if your reputation is meaningless. What a pity. The only response that I expect is one of the km that were recorded on the hire of this vehicle and then you can determine if the vehicle was used subsequent to my returning it. I personally filled the car at the Lanseria service station and that is no more than 3 – 4 km from your depot. I will now post my experience on Hello Peter.
