Refund **** and Terrible Service
Do NOT TRUST Tempest Car Hire Cape Town with your deposit. They WILL **** you out of it!
Two months after returning the car in flawless condition to Tempest Cape Town Airport, I am still trying to get my deposit back even though I have a credit note indicating the amount they owe me.
On our arrival at Cape Town airport around 8 pm, their office was closed with a sign to go to Europe Car. NO car inspection was done with me when we were handed the keys by the Europe car employee.
Upon return a SMALL scuff mark was discovered on the rear bumper, probably R700 to fix. Even though I did not cause the damage, my FULL deposit is still being held back while Tempest's "Claims Department" is finalizing the claim. NO communication, NO feedback on the process and NO manager to speak to.
I am sure the same car has been rented many times over and probably the same **** has been pulled on other unsuspecting victims.
Terrible service, terrible process and terrible company. I would happily pay more to a different company than to rent from Tempest again and my company, which sends people to Cape Town weekly will NEVER do any business with Tempest.

It's a pity that I had to find out through this platform that I missed the refund on my statement.
Overall communication and service are still way off standard, but I will concede that I've missed the refund. It could have been prevented though with a simple courtesy e-mail informing me that payment has been made, especially in light of my interaction and frustration with the delay.
