No communications from claim department
I am a bit disappointed in the claims process. This is with regards to Invoice : ********** 4 / TGEOA ********** RA1 ZINVOIC_01
I rented a car while I was in Garden Route from George Airport. My Windscreen was fine in the evening and I woke up in the morning it was cracked.
I immediately called the George branch. The advice I was given was not to bring the car in immediately but to note the crack when I returned the vehicle. I asked for the price of a new windscreen. The person at the branch came back to me with a price but did not tell me that the price was excluding VAT and there would be a claims admistration fee of R600. This pushed up the price of the claim by R1000.
When I returned the vehicle, it was confirmed my your staff member who inspected the vehicle that the crack was not caused by any impact as there was no chip. This was noted on the claim card. He suggested that I write down the full circumstances on the claims report.
I never received a call from anyone working in the claims department to explain what was being done and whether the comments were taken into account. I just received an invoice for an additional R3700 to my rental. I understand that I am liable for the damage but a bit of communications would do lot to improve the overall experience.
Next time I need a car, I will not even consider Tempest and I will make the same recommendation to my company
