Maintenance on vehicles and fueling costs

<p>My rental car's brake pads where worn and i contacted Tempest this morning in order to organise a replacement vehicle so that i dont damage the brakes/brake discs even more. Dis is discomfroting and should the car's be inspected to ensure that the cars are in good sound mecanical condition before being rented out.</p> <p> </p> <p> Before I returned the car I went and filled it up at the garage right next to Tempest car hire and at a cost of R 402-11 and 32.55 litres later I gave in the car for the exchange. When I went back to pickup the replacement car apparently they needed to refuel the rental car with another +- R 180 (14-15litres of petrol). Now this doesn't make sense at all to me and is this entirely impossible since the car's tank still showed (according to the indicator in the dashboard) it was a little below half when I filled it up this morning. Now the best part of this is i filled up 32.55 litres, tempest CLAIMS they filled up another 14 litres, that brings is up to +- 47 litres how is that possible that the car indicates it has almost half a tank left and you want to tell me that if i do the math it was only 3 litres!</p> <p> </p> <p>The explanation given to me by precious working at Tempest is that the additional fuel is because of the airlock on the vehicle. I have never heard of any car that is capable of filling up an additional 14 litres just because of the airlock.</p> <p> </p> <p>I am really dissatisfied with the service i received with Tempest and will make sure to make this clear to my Insurance brokers also.</p>
