Disgusted with Tempest Car hire.

I hired a car from Tempest Car Hire Cape Town International Airport on the 28th Feb 2019 and Returned the car on the 3rd March 2019 at about 11 pm. The car was returned in a good condition with no problems and no one was around to check the condition of the car.

Monday morning I get a call from a consultant, accusing me that I returned the car with a flat spare wheel and also the front left wheel being flat. To which I immediately disagreed to. I demanded that they send proof and she agreed. But I never received anything to that regard. Tuesday I get no response from anyone regarding the car.

On Wednesday I get a notification, that money has been deducted from my account. R 1770 Over and above the deposit that had to be returned. Therefore R 3600 + R1770 = R 5 370 of my money was taken from me, without my consent. NO PROOF was sent in terms of pictures and no invoices of how they got these costs was sent.

I proceeded to make several calls to the Tempest Car Hire at the Cape Town International Airport. No one answered my calls. Eventually someone answered my call and referred me to Conrad (Manager). The number I was given went straight to voicemail. All the other numbers just ring and no one attends to the calls.

It is very unprofessional for company of your nature to unfairly deduct R 5k from a persons account without any proof and not communicating effectively regarding charges. It is extremely bad service that no one answers any calls for claim queries at the airport branch. They are quick to charge but have no proof.

Tempest must be exposed for there bad service and unprofessional behavior towards customer claims. I will never hire nor recommend anyone to hire a car from Tempest .
