Corporate *********!
On the 18th of February I rented a Hilux bakkie from Tempest Car Hire in Cape Town with Super Saver insurance meaning I would not pay any excess in the event that there was damage to the vehicle. I received it dirty but the claimed it was not washed due to water restrictions (took me more than 1 hour to get the car). I returned the vehicle to Tempest on the 27th of February at the Kimberley Airport. The Tempest agent inspected the vehicle with me and agreed that everything was in order. He signed off on this and a couple of days later my security deposit was returned. Two months later I get a phone call saying I owe Tempest R11 000. On asking why I am informed that it sustained internal damage. Asked what this means, I am told they don't know, I must just pay. I inform them that this is ridiculous and I will not be ******ed to pay for someone else's damage to the vehicle. Another month later I get a call from a dept collection agency who has been appointed to collect the money from me. No explanation, no written request or explanation of why. One phone call and then directly to the collection agency! I refuse to be ******ed by such an *********** company. I will never, ever pay them a single sent, even if it cost me a R100 000 in legal fees. I will make a point of it. I will also tell my story wherever possible, report them to the Better Business Bureau and the Ombudsman and I will spread this as far as possible on every possible public forum, social media or press. They need to learn that they cannot bully people to ***** their money. You are ********* and should be locked up!!!!
