A HEARTFELT THANK YOU TO TEMBISA HOSPITAL, WARD 15 – EXCELLENCE, COMPASSION AND HUMANITY ❤️
I would like to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude and appreciation to the incredible healthcare workers of Tembisa Hospital, particularly the team in Ward 15.
My journey has been an emotional one. From the long wait for surgery to the fear and uncer*****y that came with it, this experience tested me in ways I cannot fully explain. But through it all, I encountered people whose dedication, patience, kindness, and commitment to their work deserve to be celebrated.
Special recognition goes to the Monday firm, Dr Ramunenyiwa, Dr Lukhele, Dr Ratsoane, Dr Marakalala, and the many other doctors whose names I unfortunately could not get. Thank you for the care you provided, your dedication to your patients, and the important work you do every day. Even though I may not remember every name, I will always appreciate the people who played a part in my journey.
To the entire theatre team that performed my laparoscopic surgery, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I entrusted you with my life during one of my most vulnerable moments, and I am deeply grateful for your skill, professionalism, and care. I may not know all your names, but please know that your contribution will never be forgotten.
To the Ward 15 nurses, both day and night shifts, you deserve a special standing ovation! A heartfelt thank you to Sister Martha Malatji, Sister Lamola, Sister Gumede, our male nurse, Sister Phyllis, Sister Tebogo, and all the other nurses whose names I may have missed.
Thank you for your patience, your dedication, your compassion, and the way you continue serving patients, even through long and demanding shifts. Being a patient means being vulnerable, frightened, uncomfortable, and sometimes emotionally exhausted. The way you care for people during these moments matters more than you may realise. Your work goes beyond administering medication and monitoring patients; it is also about restoring hope, offering reassurance, and reminding people that they are not alone.
I would also like to extend my sincere appreciation to the cleaning ladies of Ward 15. You are an important part of the healthcare team, and your work deserves to be acknowledged and respected. Thank you for your dedication, patience, and commitment to keeping the ward clean and comfortable for patients. Your contribution to our well-being does not go unnoticed.
I know that public healthcare workers often operate under immense pressure, with many patients needing their attention and care. That is precisely why I believe it is important to recognise and celebrate those who continue to serve with dedication and humanity.
This review is not about pretending that every moment of my hospital journey was easy. It is about acknowledging the people who made a difference, the ones who showed up, did their jobs, and contributed to my care during a very difficult and frightening time in my life.
To every doctor, nurse, theatre staff member, and cleaning lady in Ward 15 who played a part in my journey: I may not have all your names, but I will forever be grateful for the role you played in my healing.
May you continue to find strength in the work you do. May your efforts be recognised, your compassion appreciated, and your dedication rewarded. You spend your days caring for others, and you, too, deserve to be appreciated.
Tembisa Hospital, please know that you have healthcare workers who deserve to be celebrated. Ward 15, thank you for being part of my story.
With a grateful heart, thank you for caring for me. ❤️
Sometimes, the greatest gift we can give those who care for us is to let the world know that their kindness mattered.
