This is my third review due to ongoing poor service and lack of transparency.

This is now the third review I am compelled to post due to ongoing failures and lack of communication.

My TV developed technical issues and was taken in for maintenance on 13 December 2025, only after I was forced to write a review on this platform because the company initially refused to assist me.

After receiving no updates, I had to post another review. Only then did a technician reach out, confirming that the TV was still being repaired and that they were waiting for a specific adhesive glue to dry. I was assured that the TV was working perfectly and that it would be returned to me by 16 January.

The TV did not arrive as promised. Instead, I later received an update stating that it was scheduled for repair, which directly contradicted what I had been told.

No further communication was received until I personally called this morning, 20 Jan to follow up, after which the TV was suddenly delivered without explanation. Upon plugging it in, the same issue remained - the TV had clearly not been repaired at all.

I immediately contacted the technician, who then informed me (for the first time) that:

A report had been sent to Teljoy stating that the TV is not repairable

Teljoy allegedly instructed them to return the TV

Teljoy would contact me regarding a replacement

This information was never communicated to me prior to delivery. I have received no written report, no confirmation of failed repairs, and no guidance on next steps. Had I not followed up myself, I would not have known that the TV is considered beyond repair.

To date, I have still not received any correspondence from Teljoy regarding the replacement of the TV.

This entire experience has been utterly terrible for me, reflects poor communication, inconsistent information, and unacceptable service delivery. I am extremely disturbed by how this matter has been handled and I am expecting immediate written confirmation from Teljoy on the replacement process and resolution of this matter.

Hello Zanele

 What you have described is not the standard of service Teljoy strives to provide, and we fully acknowledge that the communication and handling of your repair has fallen far short of what you deserve.

 Your matter will be escalated with urgency for immediate review. A senior consultant will contact you to assist.

Thank you for your response and for acknowledging that the service and communication provided in this matter fell below acceptable standards.

While I note the undertaking to escalate the matter, I would like to emphasise that this issue has already been ongoing since 13 December 2025, with multiple follow-ups and public reviews required before any meaningful engagement occurred.

For the sake of clarity and accountability, I request the following in writing:
  1. Confirmation that the TV has been assessed as not repairable, together with the relevant technician’s report;
  2. Confirmation of the replacement process, including timelines;
  3. The name and contact details of the senior consultant assigned to this matter; and
  4. A clear indication of when this matter will be fully resolved.

Given the prolonged delays, contradictory information, and lack of prior communication, I trust this escalation will now result in a prompt and transparent resolution without further need for follow-ups.

I look forward to urgent written confirmation.

Teljoy

I specifically requested to be contacted via written correspondence for the sake of clarity and accountability. I did not request a telephone call.

I did not refuse engagement. I explicitly requested written correspondence, which remains outstanding.

Missed calls do not substitute written communication, particularly where formal confirmation of a failed repair, technician report, and replacement process is required.

To date, I have still not received any written correspondence confirming the outcome of the repair or the next steps. I am awaiting this in writing.

I had to personally write an email to Teljoy regarding my faulty TV. Cindy forwarded my complaint to the Technical Department Manager, and despite my follow-ups, I have still not received any written response from Aretha Erasmus.
The way Teljoy handles business is absolutely unacceptable. You sent back a TV that was not repaired, and to date, there has been no accountability or resolution. If I do not receive a response today regarding the replacement of this faulty TV, I will be taking further steps.
I will also share my experience across social media, including Twitter, so that the whole of South Africa can see how Teljoy takes advantage of customers and treats them like nothing once they’ve made their money.
Shame on you, Teljoy!

Retha responded, she is returning to office today. I will await her response accordingly. If there is no response by cob. I will escalate this matter for further legal action. Thanks

Teljoy, Retha responded and your email alleges that ownership of the TV transferred after payment of arrears and that you therefore have no obligation to replace it. This is disputed.

The TV malfunctioned on 29 November 2025 and the fault was reported on 2 December 2025, while the account was still active and before Teljoy confirmed closure on 3 December 2025. No ownership certificate or formal transfer documentation was ever issued.

Your own authorised technician, Mastercare, confirmed that the TV has a panel failure, is not economical to repair, and records no customer misuse. In terms of the agreement, this requires substitution where repair is not viable.

I have formally responded in writing and now await Teljoy’s written confirmation of the replacement process. Failing this, the matter will be escalated further.
