Teljoy Failing to Reverse Pro Rata Charge After Complaint

I am posting this complaint publicly due to Teljoy’s failure to remove a pro rata charge from my account that resulted directly from a complaint I lodged.

This charge should have been reversed once the issue was raised, yet it remains on my account despite follow‑ups. No valid explanation has been provided, and no corrective action has been taken.

It is unreasonable to expect a customer to carry a financial charge arising from a dispute that Teljoy has failed to resolve properly.

I am formally requesting that the pro rata amount be removed in full. If this is not done within seven business days from the date of this post, I will escalate the matter to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO) for formal intervention.

I trust Teljoy will address this promptly to avoid further escalation.

Hello Karen

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention, and we’re sorry to hear about your experience. We understand your concern regarding the pro-rata charge and the frustration caused by the delay in resolving your complaint.

Please rest assured that this matter will need to be reviewed by our relevant team, as pro-rata charges are normally app**** based on the installation and billing cycle. However, if the charge resulted from a complaint or service issue, it certainly needs to be investigated properly.

We will escalate the matter urgently for review and provide you with feedback as soon as possible.

Teljoy is unable to explain why there is an outstanding balance on my account. Despite multiple requests, they have failed to provide any breakdown or justification for this amount.

In addition, an appliance that I am currently renting from Teljoy is faulty. Teljoy has refused to repair or replace the appliance unless the unexplained outstanding balance is paid in full. This is unreasonable, particularly given that they cannot account for the charge.

At this point, it is clear that an amicable resolution is not possible. Teljoy’s refusal to repair a rented appliance while being unable to justify the alleged outstanding balance leaves me with no alternative but to escalate this matter to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO).
