Disregard to POPI act

I have an account with teljoy which is near end for the past 3 months I requested a settlement to the account and as always get told will be sent via email and confirmed telephonically, a admit the account is in arrears however I am awaiting feedback from teljoy, teljoy then has the audacity to contact my mother advising that they are coming to attach the device due to non payments, I would like to know is Teljoy entitled to disclose information to any 3rd party without a power of attorney and do they not follow the POPI act (protection of personal information) this is completely ********* as this does create a negative impression with regards to my personal esteem as now the matter is being discussed by family due to teljoy staff not complying with legislation I intern feel that I am being wrong in this manner and this matter will be confirmed and taken further I will be relaying this matter to the press as well as consumer counsel /law society
