NEDBANK AND TELESURE INSURANCE ARE THE WORST INSURER

On the third of June 2024, heavy storms, cyclones, and lightning terrorized the North Coast of Durban. My parents living in Phoenix encountered severe damage to their property and contents. It is known that Nedbank boasts of easy capturing pertaining to claims via the Nedbank Insurance website and even posting on Facebook which we have done via their website with the Reference no: FI***. A week later, we called Nedbank Insurance for feedback, and the Telesure agent said that we could not claim through their websites and could only be captured telephonically so I tried to assist my dad being 75 years of age to do a conference call to help him capture the unsuccessful claim. I have to call again for the third time and finally get a claim number: *** It is the most difficult thing to speak to Telesure staff when capturing a claim because they are *********** when they ask me for my claim history when I have my own policy as well as residence and the storm damage does not pertain to my personal insurance history but my dads'. Furthermore, Telesure hides behind the POPI act when the POPI act does not give any determination about the policyholder making a conference call to activate benefits that the policyholder is paying for. We advised that Nedbank look into Telesure's poor performance in their obligation to provide fiduciary duties to Nedbank clients. I am physically disabled and I am disgusted by the way Telesure interacts with their clients and their client's families for this is not the first dispute we had.
