Insurance Claim- Recovery Update

I am following up yet again regarding my outstanding insurance recovery claim, as I have now followed up twice since your last response and have still received no feedback. I have gone back through the documentation provided to me on 18 February 2026 regarding the recovery process, and I am becoming increasingly concerned about both the length of time this matter has been outstanding and the lack of communication. The documentation clearly states that: • The recovery administration process usually takes up to 30 days once the relevant invoice has been received. • Once the other insurer has acknowledged the demand and confirmed their client's cover, the negotiation process can take up to 180 days. • Most importantly, it states that I would receive monthly updates once the recovery process had commenced. To date, I have not been receiving these monthly updates and have instead had to repeatedly follow up myself to obtain information regarding my own claim. The accident occurred in December 2025, and we are now in August 2026. This means that I have already been dealing with this matter for approximately eight months, and I am still having to chase for basic feedback and progress updates. I also understand from previous communication that the third party does have insurance, as does my policy with you. I therefore struggle to understand why I am having to continually follow up with the insurer regarding the recovery of my excess. One of the reasons I maintain insurance and pay my premiums every month is so that these processes can be handled on my behalf. I appreciate that recovery proceedings can take time and that there are processes which need to be followed. My frustration is not necessarily with the fact that the recovery may take time, but rather with the lack of proactive communication and the fact that I have to repeatedly request updates. I would therefore appreciate a clear and detailed update on the following: 1. Has the recovery demand been submitted to the third-party insurer? 2. Has the third-party insurer acknowledged receipt of the demand? 3. Has their client's cover been confirmed? 4. When did the negotiation process officially commence? 5. Where exactly are we now in the 180-day negotiation period? 6. What is currently outstanding before my excess can be recovered? 7. What is the expected next step and timeframe from here? I would also like to understand why the monthly updates promised in your documentation have not been provided. I have been patient throughout this process, but having to repeatedly chase my insurer for information is becoming extremely frustrating. I should not have to continually follow up simply to find out what is happening with my claim. Please can this matter be escalated and a comprehensive response provided to me, rather than another general update advising that the matter is still with the assessors.

Follow-up ResponseThank you for your response. Unfortunately, despite your acknowledgement on 17 August that my complaint had been escalated to the relevant team to assist me urgently, I have still received no meaningful feedback or communication regarding the recovery of my excess.I did receive a call from Auto & General yesterday, however, when I answered there was nobody on the line and the call eventually ended. I have received no further call or follow-up since then. This is extremely frustrating, particularly given that my complaint specifically relates to the ongoing lack of communication and the delay in resolving this matter.I would appreciate it if the relevant team could please contact me directly and provide a clear update on the status of my claim and, importantly, when I can expect the recovery of my excess to be resolved.Simply acknowledging a complaint and stating that it has been escalated is not sufficient when the same lack of communication continues afterwards. I am still waiting for someone to actually take ownership of this matter and provide me with a proper response.
