INSURANCE

I was involved in a minor accident in March 2015, my damages came to around R6000.00 and budget repaired my vehicle. I was under the impression that the third party was settled. Last month i was called to the small claims court reason being the third party was claiming for damages to the amount of R15000.00.I defended the matter and was asked by the magistrate to get the third partys vehicle re assessed by my insurance company.I have contacted the legal department from budget on numerous occasions and requested a reassessment as per the judges request. Budget had promised me that they will resolve this matter but they did not. I was summoned to court again today, when i contacted budget they said they cannot do a reassessment. My point here is that i am defending a matter that was supposed to be handled by my insurance company and they are no help at all. I sent numerous emails and am sitting with a phone bill of over R600.00 only to be told by Virginia Rasodi on the day of court that they cannot assist. I have noticed that insurance companies are too.quick to sign you on and debit your account but as soon as you summit a claim they look for every excuse not to settle.
