ABOMINABLE SERVICE
ABOMINABLE SERVICE FROM NEDBANK INSURANCE I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I have recently received from Nedbank Insurance. I've had issues with my car since July and took it in at Bosch in August to get the wiring repaired as it will drain the battery at night. Once the repairs were completed, the ECU was damaged due to a short circuit from an external high voltage source. Took the car to my office from Bosch as they wanted to start to charge me for storage fees. Took Bosch to the ombudsman as they didn't want to fix my car the way I brought it. Few weeks later I had to request towing from Nedbank Roadside assist as I was told to move the car from the office to my house. So while I was busy trying to fix the issues with ECU from mechanics, they broke into the car, took the battery and ECU which I reported and opened a case at a nearest police station. Opened a claim on the 2nd of October and on the 25th of October I was told that a senior consultant from Telesure Investment Holdings has been appointed to assist with the validation and finalization of your claim. I had to wait for 2 weeks for the senior consultant to receive feedback as he said that he is still waiting for the reports to finalize the claim to levitate any issues. On the 9th of November he called me telling me that they will be declining my claim because my statement doesn't correspond due to the fact that the expert report says the car last worked on August when I took it to Bosch which doesn't form part of the Nedbank claim as that was warranty issues, not the insurance claim. It's been over a week now since the senior consultant said he will be meeting with the managers to discuss the outcome of the claim. I'm struggling to make it to work as it is costly with public transport and I have to wake up very early to make it to work on time.
Surely my claim is being declined based on a report that was received from the expert because the car last worked in August when I took it to Bosch for the repairs which doesn't form part of the insurance claim but rather warrant cover, not because of the break in I reported.
When you call to make follow-up, their call center agent says they are waiting for their manager's decision.
It's been over a month and week now without receiving a resolution.
