I was an employee for Teleperformance until the 1st of November when I resigned.
I started on the 9th of October, training was scheduled to be completed on the 27th of October. On the 30th of October ai called in sick and followed the proper channels, bare in mind I was expected to be paid on the 31st of October. The next morning on my way to work I notice that there are no funds in my account meaning I was not paid. I then made contact with the business amd informed then that I was unable to get to work and when the money reflects I would be coming straight in. This was relayed to one of the line managers at Teleperformance Tuesday morning. He acknowledged the info I relayed and said he would relay it over to my manager. I then saw a Missed call from an unknown number (1 missed call not 3). I then tried making contact but nobody was getting back to me. I then call again and Im told that I have been deemed a no show and AWOL and that my salary is being withheld. PLEASE JOTE THAT I DID MAKE PRIOR CONTACT BEFOFE START OF SHIFT. I then get told if you come into work we will release your money. Knowing that they did not acknowledge me making contact with the business and still deeming me AWOL already set an expectation for Teleperformance. I decided to reason for numerous reasons being 1) Training was a nightmare because of the business not equipping us with thwith correct tools to access systems 2) No physical contract was signed but had to be "acknowledged" on a pc. No copy of any contract was handed to us to read through to understand properly. Training was suppose to be scheduled completed on the 27th of October, toda is the 2nd of November and apparently they are still not up and running. I then get told by HR that I will not be getting paid due to me being AWOL, I then get an apology and a message saying they would like to rectify whatever has happened. And that I should come into the office so that my money could be released. So to my understanding, if I go into office and I take back my resignation I will get paid. I go forward with it, I wont get paid. That's exactly what they telling me. I then get the contract thrown into my face saying that your money will be released but payroll will be deducting whatever payroll needs to deduct. ***. How can you say something like that and not state what exactly is being deducted. I reported into work for 3 weeks to get told im getting paid zilch. I literally explained everything to one of the HR business partners, Adan a Teleperformance Cape Town and he said he acknowledges my resignation and then hangs up. He did try to reconcile and make up for their huge error in misjudgment and deeming an employee AWOL for no valid reason.
The question is? Am I getting paid for the days worked or not?
No. I'm not. Teleperformance Cape Town, well done you guys out did yourselves.
