Zero accountability from Tekkie Town

On 07/09/2023 we bought a pair of Skechers from Tekkie Town. This wasn't our first choice of shoe however, on advice from the sales consultant we opted for this as the shoe had a memory foam sole and it absorbed impact - which was a requirement as I have a chronic knee injury. The sales consultant advised that the shoe would have to be worn to activate the gel in the sole. I wore the shoe the same day but ultimately the shoe caused me pain and discomfort as the sole burnt my foot and the impact was not absorbed - causing me knees to ache. On the 08/09/2023, we went back to the store to return the shoe. The manager advised that because the shoe were worn and not in a sellable condition we needed to complete a form to HQ to which we request a refund and/exchange. Note that I wore the shoe for less than two hours, waiting for the gel to be activated. On 20/09/2023, the manager of the store called to advise that the return/refund request was not approved. She said she would contact HQ the next day to enquire on what basis. On 21/09/2023 the store manager called to say that the request was declined by HQ as the shoe was not in a sellable condition. When we requested that this enquiry be escalated, she referred us to Tekkie Town Customer Care. We called Customer Care and the consultant explained to us the same as what the manager did and I explained again about my knee injury and how the shoe did not serve its purpose and how it was false advertising. Upon back and forth communication and escalating the enquiry to the Area Manager, this request was declined again. The Customer Care consultant then advised that we personally contact Skechers to complain about how the product is false advertising and how the shoe does not serve it's purpose. On this note I questioned why I have to call Skechers to complain if I did business with Tekkie Town, they took my money not Skechers. The consultant advised that it was against the law for them to call on behalf of the customer. Today, 18/09/2023, called Skechers to explain about my knee enquiry and how the shoe does not live up to its advertising etc. The Skechers Manager advised we did business with Tekkie Town and the onus was on them to resolve this enquiry. So here we are, stuck with a shoe that we cannot wear! No accountability whatsoever from Tekkie Town. I highly regret ever giving them any business. Wouldn't recommend you buy any of their products if you are in doubt.
