Unprofessionalism Tekkie Town 63 Boschoff Street PMB
Complaint with the unprofessional behaviour of the Manager at Tekkie Town Pietermaritzburg 63 Boschoff Street.
I am really not one to complain and understand the difficulty when working in retail especially during the festive season, but never in my life have I been treated with such disrespect and disregard. The Manager at the time was rude and showed no willgness to help.
My husband and I (Trisha Pillay) are from Johannesburg and had come down to Pietermaritzburg to visit family. My brother had gifted my husband a pair of sneakers and sandals from Tekkie Town, which was the wrong size. Being that it is a gift we did not have a slip, however we did have the box. So we deceded to go the Tekkie Town Pietermaritzburg to exchange the size. Upon arrival we asked for assitance as we would like to exchange the size, we were immediately dismissed and was told no we need a slip. We then went up to the manager stating that the shoe was a gift could he check the barcode on the box. The manager at the time dismissed us saying no exchange can be done without a slip. I understand the shop has policies however what made my husband and I upset was the attitude and unprofessional manner we were told off. Bare in mind that the shoes were in the original box my brother had purchased it in.
So we had requested the slip be sent from my Brother via Whatsapp since they were in Howick at the time. Once the image of the slipped was recieved we went back to the shop and showed the Manager the slip. Who with an attituide did not want to see us and was completely ignoring us. I would like to reiterate that i have never as a customer been treated so rudely. He then told us an image of the slip will not do. We were extremely fustrated being told that he has no data to print the slip to do the exchange. What kind of training does Tekkie Town managers recieve to display such unprofessionalism. We then urged him to call a district manager, he then called the District Manager (Eugene Reddy). Which had told him to do the exchange the item.
My husband and I was delayed 2 hours trying to not return but to exchange a shoe at Tekkie Town because the Manger chose to make it difficult for us, we were treated rudely shown no respect and was even ignored at times. The unprofessionalism experienced at this branch is disturbing especially that showed by the manager. I would like to lay a formal complaint and I would like to know that this complaint is taken seriously. I look forward to recieveing feedback once the investigations are done.
