Unfair exchange/return policy

Tekkie Town in Ficksburg, Free State has a very bad customer care service. I bought a pair of sneakers in August 2024, then a month later September 2024 I decided to return the pair, not worn and still in the box. I unfortunately miss-placed the receipt and I paid with a debit card and they had a copy of the sale in-store. I wanted a refund and I was told that they can not refund me since I do not have the receipt, I was then told that I was supposed to keep the receipt for 3 months, should it happen that I want to return the shoes than I'd produce the receipt. I was then given a voucher that only allows me to make a purchase only at Takkie Town store.This information was new to me, I was never informed of such...and again who still keep receipts in this day and age. worse with the current technology.
