No Refund

On Saturday 3rd August 2015 I purchased a pair of shoes for R799.95. On taking them home I found them to be extremely uncomfortable and decided that I would return same which I duly did on Tuesday morning 4th August 2015 full well expecting to get a refund of the amount paid. The blurb on the bottom of the slip (in small print) which reads as follows: \Tekkie Town (Pty) ltd are entitled to discretionally refuse any return and/or Exchange of non-defective items"was pointed out and I was told that I could exchange for something else or could receive a voucher in lieu of a refund. I objected as to my mind this is against the Consumer Act and I was told that I could phone their Head Office which I said would be pointless if this is there policy. Why is this not pointed out when making a purchase ( 'cause who reads the bottom of a till slip) or displayed prominently in the shop. As I could not find anything else suitable I had to accept the voucher and my chances of finding anything suitable at any other time would be pretty slim so basically I sit with a useless piece of paper that I am unlikely to use and have lost R799.95. Is this legal in terms of the Consumer Act? """
