Incorrect pricing

Went into Tekkie Town for a pair of new tekkies. Find a nice pair of New Balance for R799.95 (price on shoe box on which the tekkie is displayed). I asked for my size but when I reach the till the price that rang up for was R1099.95. Obviously I complained, but the manager told me the shoe boxes are just display props, and not the actual prices of the shoes on top of them - you as client need to take down a shoe, compare the style number with the style on the box to confirm if pricing is correct. I took a picture which I've send through to customercare, but they also recon you should take down the shoe, irrespective of size and check if there is a price label on the shoe and then check the price, you cannot go on the display shoe box price. What a load of ****, the shoes I fitted was fetch from the top shelve, I only fitted them to confirm that they fit! If this is their policy, then why do the shoe boxes have price labels? SURELY IF THEIR POLICY IS LIKE THEY SAID IT IS, IT MAKES MORE SENSE TO ONLY PUT PRICE TAGS ON THE SHOES!

Thank you for your quick reply, even though it is automated and the same for all complaints. I already spoke to Charlotte in customer care who asked me to mail her the picture I took. She then spoke to the regional manager (whos name she don't want to share, hence I will search for it on facebook, somewhere someone will know her) who said she can do nothing for me. Interesting though is that that is exactly what the staff instore said she would say....
