Fishy Soviet sneakers

On 14/05/2015 I bought Soviet sneakers from Tekkie Town Herm****. I live in Bredasdorp. On 16 May I wore the sneakers to a kiddies party. After a while the lady next to me said that something smelled off/fishy. To my embarrassment, it was my shoes. An awful fishy smell. On my next visit to Herm**** I took it back, but the manager told me that Soviet said that it could not be returned as it is not a factory fault and that I wore the shoes. I had to wear the shoes, it only smelled after the first time that I put it on. I have lots of leather shoes and none of them smell. I took the shoes to Bredasdorp Tekkie Town, where the very nice manager, Michelle Cassisa did her best as she also smelled the fishy shoes. Betsie Janse van Vuuren at Soviet told her that the sneakers could not be refunded/exchanged as it is not a manufacturer fault. Now I have this R399.95 shoes and I can't wear it because it smells of fish. What would you suggest?
