Defective Products

I bought Bronx shoes and Jeep sandles 2 weeks ago. When I got home it turns out both were damaged. Tekkie Town, I expected better from you since the consultant who assisted me was so friendly and professional.

Dear  Phemelo Motona Thank you for your e-mail. My sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. You can visit the Tekkie Town branch where you bought the shoes the manager on duty will assist you in this matter.
Please keep in mind you need to go to one of these stores accompanied with:

-          Proof of purchase.-          The shoes must be in an unused condition. -          The original packaging (box)

I trust that you find the information of value

I have already worn these shoes as I was not aware of the defects until two weeks later. I proceeded to patch the shoes to cover the defects as I was pressed for time and did not have the luxury of time involved with visiting a branch and had no other shoes to wear for the occasion that I was already late for.

P.S. This story of retailers requesting original packaging(box) is not in line with the Consumer Protection Act. It should not at all be a condition for a customer to be assisted. We can't keep boxes of items in our homes, where do you think we get the space? Anyway, I have the boxes and
I don't mind taking the shoes in at the branch where I bought them, however what recourse is there since I have already worn the shoes and patched them ( I was pressed for time, didn't have any other and wanted to prevent further damage whilst wearing them)?

A consultant from Tekkie Town called me on Monday last week and said that I should take my shoes to the Nearest Tekkie Town where I would be assisted. I told her I would go to Tekkie Town where I bought the shoes on Saturday (this past Saturday) and she confirmed that she would alert them of my coming. She also confirmed that when I get there they would contact the complaints department who would then provide feedback within minutes of receipt of my complaint. So, I went to the Tekkie Town on Saturday and an hour later my complaint was not responded to. I was even told by the consultants at the store that the complaints department hardly works on Saturday. When I requested them to give me back my shoes, they refused saying that I can't get them back since I lodged a complaint. This was not disclosed to me prior to lodging the complaint. So I insisted on getting my shoes or money back which they couldn't do.

They ended up calling the area manager who then said I should choose shoes at the store, shoes of an equal value as the ones I bought. Unfortunately there were no other shoes which were similar to the ones I had bought and those that were similar, they didn't have in my size. It ended up being a complete waste of time since I was working on Saturday and I really dreaded going back to the store for the very same reason. I work 6 days a week and I really don't have the luxury of time to have to chase Tekkie Town around for shoes. Not impressed at all...
