Customer is Trash

This is how I felt when I went in to Tekkie Town in Beacon Bay for a refund today. Firstly, I was told by a sales person to read their policy. When I alerted him to the fact that their sales docket stated that retuns and exchanges are discretionary, I was informed to wait for the manager.

She was a cashier on tills at the time and I waited approximately 10 minutes for her as she was exchanging notes for coins with someone to fill up change in her till. This was done right in front of me whilst she was aware that I was waiting for her. When she did attend to me(without greeting), all I was told was that their company policy does not allow refunds. She then went to make a call without informing of what was going on. I was then given the phone to speak to the branch manager who was not in the store.

I was then again told by the branch manager that their company policy does not allow returns for cash and there was nothing she could do to help me. When I asked her for the area manager's contact number, I was informed that he was in hospital and could not take calls.

I then decided to call customer care, who told me they would contact the area manager and get back to me. A few minutes later I was called back by customer care to inform me that the area manager has also confirmed that he cannot assist me as it is company policy.

I purchased two pairs of shoes on Saturday at the store and went in to return one today. The one shoe was unsuitable and they did not have what I wanted, so am I supposed to just take anything for my hard earned money?

I am utterly disgusted at their attitude! When all South African companies are trying to up their game with regards to customer service because of all the international competition coming to our country and with the economy in crisis, it is amazing that Tekkie Town has the audacity to treat their customers in this manner. How pathethic!

I will definitely not be supporting them anymore and will be posting my disgust on all social platforms.
