Consumer protection act not followed by Tekkie Town

I bought a pair or trial running shoes 4 months ago. I haven’t worn them much as they proofed to be slippery. I slipped at least 3 times on the bathroom tiles and fell in front of my boss a few weeks ago. It was on a brick walkway. Clearly they are not suited for the purpose they were intended for. According to the CPA, I had the right to return them and ask for a refund. I took them back to the store and was told that the customer service department was closed and I had to leave them there till the new year. I agreed and after almost 1 weeks now someone finally got back to me and informed me that they can not take them back as this can not be seen as a defect. My point is that I can’t wear them as they make me fall. Now it will probably be the bast to contact the consumer goods ombudsman for assistance. I am disappointed in the way they dealt with this.
