Beware when purchasing shoes from Tekkie Town

I bought trial running shoes from Tekkie Town Cape Gate on the 1st of September 2017. I wore them a few times since then, but on a rainy day, while walking on a pathway, I slipped and fell. I now feel that I can not wear them as they will slip again on a wet surface, defeating their purpose. I took them back and asked for a refund. After many phone calls from the customer complaints department and after writing several reviews here on hello peter, I have hit a brick wall. They refuse to refund the shoes as they believe it is not a manufacturing issue. The more I explain that I can not use them anymore, the more they say that they can not help me in any way. I honestly don't think I am unreasonable in my request. I think anyone in my shoes (pun intended) would have reacted in the same way. I finally got a call from the regional manager today. He has seen the shoes and they are definitely worn and in such a condition that they will not be able to resell them he says with a tone of arrogance in his voice. You can't buy a car and return it four months later because you don't like it, he says to me... implying that I returned the shoes because I don't like them or simply don't want them. I have never been so insulted. I can not believe the attitude and the way I am being treated. I returned the shoes because they made me slip and fall, I don't care that you can not resell them again. They are clearly more concerned about their profits then looking out for a customers welfare. And what does buying a car got to do with anything? The attitude. I will never shop there again and I will definitely not recommend Tekkie Town to anyone.
