I could not ask for a better introduction to the TEFL world!

The TEFL Academy is a good resource for learning all there is to learn about teaching English as a foreign language. The course I took was a great introduction to the industry and taught me many things I most likely wouldn't have learned on my own at the same pace as with the course. There is a good balance of text, videos, and interactive quizzes to retain your interest as a learner. If you can purchase access to a course when there's a sale, like I did, then all I can say is that it is very very worth it! The course itself is not too difficult and the two final major assignments are quite manageable. Just make sure you leave yourself enough time to complete them before your course expires (6 months time).
