Warning: exploding Tedelex Pressure Cooker.
Around October 2019 we bought an 11L Tedelex Pressure Cooker from Makro Arbour Crossing. Actually we had to exchange it after discovering that the lid was broken when we got home. It wasn't used often but came in handy when cooking pickled ox tongue, oxtail and other tougher meats. Tonight 28 January 2019 while cooking ox tongue, there was a deafening explosion in the kitchen, the pot flew off the stove and onto the floor, which left the kitchen in an awful mess. I had my back to the stove when it happened about 1.5 meters from the stove and pot. Fortunately I wasn't injured but I was just lucky. Luckily no one else was in the kitchen with me. Upon investigation my husband found that the seal had blown out through the side of the pressure cooker lid. I've used pressure cookers all my life with no reason to not trust them. I feel differently now, and people have to be warned about this danger. I welcome Tedelex to take this pressure cooker and test it. This product should be recalled until the manufacturers can guarantee consumers that the product is safe to use. As is, it is a deadly risk. A person or child standing close by at the time of its malfunction could be critically injured or worse. Please don't ignore this I won't use it again, ever.
